Copper supply update / Historical sample
Six disclosures.
Three research updates.
A withdrawn forecast needs a blank value. A transport restart belongs in logistics. A commissioned expansion belongs under its parent project. Here is how those distinctions translate into changes to your working table.
01 / KAMOA-KAKULA · CU-001–003
Guidance returns after withdrawal; mining resumes on the western side
Ivanhoe withdrew Kamoa-Kakula’s 2025 production guidance on 26 May. On 11 June, it issued a new range of 370,000–420,000 tonnes and reported that underground mining on Kakula’s western side had restarted on 7 June.
Keep the original 520,000–580,000-tonne range in the history. The active numeric value during withdrawal is blank. A western-side restart does not establish a full restart of the complex.
Evidence: 8 January guidance; 26 May withdrawal; 11 June restart and revised guidance. Figures retain the issuer’s 100% project, copper-in-concentrate basis before refining losses and payability deductions.
02 / LAS BAMBAS · CU-004–005
Separate the transport restart from the guidance revision
MMG’s 22 July 2025 report said transport resumed on 15 July after an interruption of about two weeks. Production continued normally, so the logistics event does not justify a mine-output deduction.
On 21 October, MMG changed its full-year guidance from a 360,000–400,000-tonne range to a 400,000-tonne point forecast. Add the point forecast as a new node and retain the earlier range.
Evidence: Q2 report, page 6; Q3 report, pages 7 and 13. Copper contained in concentrate, full-project basis. No tonnage loss is inferred from the transport interruption.
03 / KANSANSHI S3 · CU-006
Commercial production is a project milestone, not another mine total
On 15 January 2026, First Quantum reported that S3 produced first concentrate in August 2025 and entered commercial production effective 1 December, following ramp-up.
Evidence: 2025 preliminary production release, Kansanshi section. The effective date and disclosure date remain separate. This was a retrospective disclosure, not a contemporaneous monitoring record.
Take the updates into your workflow
- Find the six record IDs in Changes.
- Transfer the before-and-after states, periods and reporting bases into your own table.
- Use Evidence to check the original disclosures and retain the follow-up questions.
The sample organizes source discovery, version comparison and reporting boundaries to reduce preparation work. Time savings have not yet been measured. The annual project table covers selected 2025 output; historical cases do not establish current 2026 operating conditions.
